There are 8 large crates of loose DAM Quick spools.

About half new & half used.

These are spools that are not already on a reel —- of which there are another 450, or so.

These will be for new builds for folks.

So I pulled the crates out to see what was there and make an inventory.

Then went through about 20 other crates on the outer shop shelves —- and was able to find a 5 gallon bucket full of loose spools, plus the ones on the card table not in crates.

So now I'll go through the spools to organize better and add in the bucket & table guys.

The reason for this is that next week I have about 150 New Old Stock spools still in boxes, plus some loose ones coming in from a long closed DQ shop back East.  And another 120 lbs of NOS DQ parts along with the load.

So now is the time to get these organized, inventoried, and restored with all new spindles, drags, and drag knobs before it gets out of hand.

This way I will know how many reels can be built for folks.

Spools are almost always the toughest part on these to find.

Had to use the upstairs guest bathroom to start the sort on these.  Not enough room in the shop, and still be able to work on reels.

Since I mostly work on quality vintage spinning reels these days —- there are also about 700 Mitchell, 100 Penn, and maybe 250 ABU Cardinal loose spools.

Hard to believe there are still so many parts out there! Forty to seventy plus years later. We're all so blessed to have someone like you, Fred who builds, repairs and offers parts for non inflated cost. You understand the value of having these virtually indestructible reels back out for another generation to enjoy for their lifetime.

Thanks
Jeff
