Some years ago, I had a lot of Fenwick rod components —- blanks, guides, mounts, handles, etc.

A good friend of mine was a local master rodmaker.  I asked him to take some of the Fenwick components to make me a couple of pairs of matched rods.

Here is the twist —- I wanted full-sized trout/bass handles and hardware —-  I wanted the rods to be under 5' —- but not weak noodle actions.  Rods capable of handling large or small game.  Had to be glass.

He used Fenwick wraps & colors, rods are identical at 4'9", one piece, sensitive action on the top 1/3rd, backbone on the mid and lower part of the blank.

The idea was to have a couple of rods for rivers, creeks, lakes, and also in the boat.  Lots of times when trolling, I would spot some surface action —- so these would be great rigged with 4lb, and a Panther-Martin, Roostertail, or Mepps lure.

They match perfectly and are exactly center-stem balanced for the 200 sized spinners. 

I have 2 that have never been used.

Tried a Mitchell 300, a Daiwa 1300B, Penn 714, DQ 220, DQ 1202, Cardinal C4, Penn 712.  They are perfect combos.

The full-sized handles and hardware with short glass Fenwick blanks are not toys —- they are serious rods for serious anglers.  And they cast superbly, plus the control and sensitivity are both refreshing and remarkable.

The handle material is the Fenwick proper colored hypalon.

Perfect for a father and son, husband and wife —- or just a serious and convenient rod for the ponds, rivers, and the boat.

No, I am just showing what reels these rods might go well with, Tommy —-

If someone also wanted one of the reels —- that could be easily arranged.

I have a lot of quality reels to get rid of.

Most of our folks have plenty of reels, we know that you do!
