Thanks redsetta, you guys have GT's in NZ too?  How big do they get out there?

No, not here unfortunately. Not that I've ever heard of, anyway.
Have to head up to the islands (Samoa, Tonga, Fiji etc) for GT action.
Plenty of kingies here though (ie yellowtail) up to around 40kg, as well as big bass, various pelagics etc.
A guy caught a nice big Pacific bluefin last month, here: http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/fishing/news/6526101/Houhoras-world-record-bluefin-claim
