If you leave it at home you will need it Jack.
Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

natch!

I know Lee, happens every time. But also, that stuff I bought in the off-season that would have killed 'em last year doesn't get used at all this year.

I hear ya, every year is different.   I am probably not bringing a 20# rig due to Marks on the water information.

I'll only bring the 20 lb stuff if I hear we're getting mostly small bait.

I've been 100% set for awhile now.  And then Bill calls me, makes me rethink the plan, and talks me into bringing more stuff  :d

Yup, lets blame it on Bill.... well I think I have "helped" him a few times too.

Same here, I was all set, then had a few conversations, and suddenly I have 12 rigs 😱.  But like Lee said, anchovies most likely won't be on the menu, so 20# stays home, but 20# leader will be going.   Bill
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

I'll be out on an 8 day the end of next week, will try to share my info.
Stay Classy!

YFT were mostly 50-80# and mostly down deep. The water is very warm due to El NiƱo... which is supposed to peak in Movember. I had a 30# reel on my last trip but only used it when small Dorado were around. I see no need for anything less than 40#. I didn't take anything under 40# last year and conditions were better then! I'm taking 2 60# this time since it was the most used. Water temps on the Ridge was 84f. The Independence went there and it was a waste of time. They should've stayed with us at the Rocks but hey, you don't know if you don't go!

I realy do not want to keep YFT and will fish for them with my 30#, 40# and slow pitch gear.  The year before last I had no problems dealing with flyline caught YFT I  the 60-70 pound range on 30#, and I was not trying to keep any.

I usualy fish for dorado with 25#-30# rigs.
