Torium Inner clutch Sleeve question

Hi there

I'm servicing several Toriums at the moment and noticed in several, the inner clutch doesn't have ears.  Is this normal?  All the Toriums I've done in the past have had ears that drop into the top most washer.

These sleeve also are keyed half way inside the sleeve which makes me wonder about the correct orientation...key up or key down town the drag washer stack.

It would help if you send a photo of the sleeve as I can not say I have ever come across an issue as you describe.
I have an old torium and have serviced a few newer ones and would remember if the latter had some unusual drive system.
