Pictures  look like inserts in the guides.  Will braid eat into those guides?

I'm using braid on several older rods with older guides with aluminum oxide inserts and no issues at all. Aluminum oxide, commonly used in guides, is supposed to be harder than chrome, stainless steel, or even carbaloy. Others may have different results.

Two rules on the boat
1. Fish where the fish are
2. See rule #1

Yes it will , I have some Daiwa rod with these SS guides , tiptop worn out even with mono . Not create a crack but it make a little deep that we can see .

Looks like Fuji BULG guides, which were Hardloy. I have a lot of rods with Hardloy and haven't personally had any issues with braid cutting into it, or PacBay Hialoy either for that matter. I hope I live to fish long enough to wear them all out.

Pictures are not very clear , it look like Daiwa guides with stainless steel insert . If it is Hardloy guides so it's not going to worn out .picture here is a Daiwa rod that i have to change the tip top

Thank you all.

I have some old Ugly Stiks tiger that have some sort plastic insert that doesnt like braid at all. Groove wears into insert, braid gets week burning in that groove, eventually frays, breaks- usually on the fish of a lifetime

I've stashed those rods away to be re-wrapped with proper eyes but that will never happen
