Quote from: Gfish on August 31, 2025, 06:06:52 PMHi Johan. Fred(foakes) explained it well with the proper sequence. That's what used to get me. Making me have to do several unnecessary disassemblies on spinners to finally get a full and proper reassembly. The pinnacle for me was to be able to do the very complicated Shimano Baitrunner. The Mitchell saltwater series such as the 302 was also a good teacher.
Brushes; nylon, brass and stainless steel. Brass and stainless steel for older and less cared-for reels.

I like what Alan said, too; try to think like the person that designed the reel. First I have to drop my concepts, then ask myself what was that person trying to accomplish doing it this way and why?

Hi "G". Thank's for writing me a message! You added metal brushes to Freds list. I have a nice copper brush for gun cleaning. Will find a few more from different materials. They will surely come handy.

I understand a bait runner must be extra fun to take a part. Less so putting it together. Meetings with good teachers can come in many incarnations.

See you!
Johan

Non painted parts in lacquer thinner, the lid has small holes drilled in it so I can drain it without losing parts.
Hi! Thanks for writing. I have a snap ring plier. But I'm afraid I will need one even smaller for this scale of things.

Your small jar with drilled holes in the lid sounds really clever. I will make one of my own!
Thinner for non painted, OK. And I often found "clean petroleum" to be very useful for cleaning most painted surfaces free from label glue, stain and such.

See you!

Missed a question. The market.
Ambassadeurs and Cardinals are everywhere. If you manage to search Tradera you will find out.

Before you go shopping, it would be good to know that the national postal services of many European countries, Sweden among them,  have suspended parcel service to the USA, as a direct result of the Great Leader's capricious tariff and trade ideas.

What I love about getting out on the water is that the logical thought process is mostly over, it's all about immediate reactions to my whims.
