Electric Reel for Penn International 80

I have a first generation Penn International 80 and would like to know if there is an electric motor that will attach to it? Electra-mate says no, but can I make it work?

i have seen it done along time ago and most recently saw one on a tiagra too. the tiagra had a spacer to eliminate the 2 speed
