I joined Robinhood 4 years ago after a friend told me about it. They gave me a free cheapo stock to join.I am by no means a gambling man or take high financial risks.Anywho,it's fun to watch & they make it easy to trade. If you are old enough to remember Gomez Addams reading his Ticker Tape machine,it was just too funny ;D  ;D If Gomez were still here I don't think he would  be using the app...

Sports Gambling sites give also free credits to bet with when you join, its also just so fun to watch and easy to make bets...

Robinhood is scum and everybody should steer well clear.

Just the fact that they are mentioned here will probably trigger a bunch of bots who try to get in here and flood the forum with positive reviews.

Hire a pro, but no more than a 1% fee. TV dudes are usually 50% more for the same service.   Ask up front!!

The only question you need to know in finding an investment pro, "are you required to act as a fiduciary?"

That of course means they are cannot do anything that isn't in your best interest, and you'd be surprised to learn that this is NOT the norm. Lots of "advisors" get kickbacks for the things they sell you on. Those kickbacks often amount to more than the fees they get from you, and unless required to otherwise, they're gonna act in their best interest.

I don't have enough money on Robinhood to bother with a pro. My mother has a pro that we have known for years for her IRAs,his fee is minimal.I am still thinking about Gomez's ticker tape machine ;D

I want the train with the dynamite bridge  ;D   There is porbably only a few of us on this forum that know what (or why) it was called a "ticker tape parade".  And oddly enough, in a previous life that was one of my jobs: creating and processing reels of punch tape for Linotype machines. - john

Best experience has been Vanguard. Known for having a low expense ratio.
Without planing it, I decided to move from a Growth & Income fund to a Vanguard Int.Term Bond fund in 2006. So I was able to get 2-5% returns throughout the 2008-2012 "Great Recession". I was just kinda interested in exploring something different and lucked-out.
