Along with the hybrid 700/704 reel i just worked on here   https://alantani.com/index.php/topic,40476.0.html     The guy brought a Newell 322F reel.  These reels are known for being a little "brittle" (no metal side plate rings). I put some new drags in and got it working great..clicker and all.

Guy leaves and texts an hour later and says the clicker doesn't work. He takes it apart and sends me a photo.  Sure enough, the click tongue has rotated out of the Click spring.  Uh oh.

Guy brings it back and I see that the two little "tits" have broken off allowing the riveted click spring to pivot on the rivet. Now what?

My fix was to drill 2 small holes 3/32" in diameter where the "tits" used to be. I had a broken 3/32 drill bit and cut it in half and used some JB weld to hold them all together.  Not pretty, but not visible.

Clicker works again. Hopefully for a long time.

Perfect solution. I have done the same with corroded side plates.
I woke today and suddenly nothing happened.
