Here something new to me, a Magnetic Tool Mat (x2) that I recently picked up for myself.  It was more or less an impulse buy that my neighbor described to me as being useful.

I purchase the two of them from Temu for less than $40 because HF was sold out. It only took a few days to receive them.

I find them to be very useful while working on a car like I was this past weekend, replacing the battery on my wife's car. Lay it down on the fender, under the hood, wherever you find a metal surface for it to stick to and when your switching tools or needing a place to lay a bolt, nut, part, it's super handy.

It has circular magnets sandwiched between two rubber sheets, stitched together around the border. I wouldn't advertise it a non-scratch resistant but its pretty darn close if you're careful. Best of all no more run away sockets, bolts or nuts when you lay the items onto its surface.

I prefer it over the metallic parts trays you get from HF because its flat and has a larger surface and adheres to curved metal surfaces. For example, if you're doing brakes it can be used vertically as it holds up to 40lbs of tools. You place the tools, bolts, nuts, etc. on it and they hang there nicely as long as your careful with their placement orientation.
