Hi all, thanks for accepting me into this group!

I have a Dam quick 550 reel that I have recently cleaned up and serviced. while I was dismantling it I found a broken screw. I have had a hunt around trying to find a replacement but haven't found anything yet. Any advice on where to find this screw or any one on this group have any replacement parts for these old reels?

The part number of the screw is 100-565 (screw for slide) and I would be after the lock washer for that as well (100-566).

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Al

Hi Al, and Welcome!

Here is the screw and lock washer you need for the DQ 550.

Most often, these have been used in the salt, so it may be useful to replace the connecting block and slide as well.

I can send out all (4) parts or just the screw and lock washer —- your call.

N/C, just respond with your full mailing address please in a PM (private message) —- and I'll get them in the mail today.

Kind of funny —-

New guy comes on the site, looking for some parts.

Gets welcomed by folks.

Rare new parts offered to him at N/C.

No response after 9 days.

Guess he found them cheaper somewhere else.

Back in the bin they go.

Now they are not available to him for any price.

Common courtesy seems to be out of date with a lot of folks nowadays.

I just laugh it off and move on.

Sad...

Life happens sometimes. One never knows from day to day what might be in store for them or to others that are close.
Love those open face spinning reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco Cardinals)

Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

I remember the first time I received some parts in the mail from Keith.  I told my Wife that someone I met on a forum had sent some parts without asking for anything in return.  She said that give you hope that there's still good people in this world.  This place seems to attract them.  Maybe he went on a last minute, once in a lifetime fishing trip.
I fish because the voices in my head tell me to.

Funny the first time I told my wife someone (ironically also Keith) sent me a box of reels for free she told me she was sure it was the beginning of a scam. Oh, completely free? They must be playing the long game and/or expect something in return later. When he invited me out there, she was sure I'd be losing a kidney.

Al finally broke his 84day-long unlucky streak and has hooked into the big one. It has towed his skiff out into the gulfstream and after finally landing and lashing the mighty fish alongside his boat he is now trying to fight off ravenous sharks but they are eating his fish anyway. Internet connection is probably spotty at best.
