I am an oriental food junkie-mostly Chinese,Thai,& Japanese Hibachi. However,I have only eaten at one Korean restaurant in 62 years.I tried Cabbage Kimchi not a fan, although I did like the potato Kimchi. The restaurant we are going to tomorrow is known for their Korean fried chicken,BiBimBap,& Bulgogi.I haven't a clue,& would only be shotgunning the menu hoping for the best.If anyone knows their Korean food please chime in?

Bulgogi is, in my American opinion, the best Korean food. They have a lot of delicious dishes. But bulgogi is my favorite.

Ask for some Banchan, which are small, usually colder or room temp dishes served with the main warm meal.
I fish because the voices in my head tell me to.

Kalbi fits American tastes pretty well and our family loves Bibimpap and Sundubu (spicy tofu soup)

If you click on each item on the online menu, it gives a pretty good description of the dish and options.

Ok I researched all the suggestions & want to try the Bulgogi & Fried chicken,I have a weakness for spring rolls & lumpia. So I am researching Korean Spring Rolls now.

AI telling me this:

"Korean spring rolls" generally refers to several distinct dishes: a fresh, Vietnamese-style wrap called Wollamssam (월남쌈); a deep-fried seaweed and glass noodle roll called Gimmari (김말이); and fusion rolls featuring Korean BBQ ingredients like bulgogi or kimchi.

:d  Something right in my wheelhouse, I spent 2 years in Korea and fell in love with the cuisine.

Bulgogi - is the most popular dish, thin sliced beef with a side of kimchee is the classic.

Kalbi(Galbi) - SLiced short ribs, a notch above Bulgogi IMHO for the rich fatty succulent meat.

Korean Fried Chicken - Not traditional, a Korean take on American KFC but better, and coated with sauce. *Be careful in choosing which sauce as some are really spicy if you're not used to heat. Soy Garlic is my go to.

RE:Spring Rolls - Not that much of a thing in Korean cuisine, Mandoo (Korean gyoza/potstickers) are the popular appetizers. Worth a try.

another suggestion is JapChae, a unique stir fry noodle dish with a sweet & savory sauce.

bibimbap is basically a meal in a bowl with some meat (Bulgogi) and some veggies over rice, but looking at the menu that's mostly what they serve, easy for us Americans to understand.  ;)
Because the average person here freaks out at a traditional Korean BBQ where you cook your own at the table.

Have a great time & hit us back with your restaurant review.

Years ago a coworker told me about Mongolian bbq where you pick
Your ingredients & the chef cooks it on hibachi while you watch & then take it back to your table without the "benihana show",it's quick!

I like most Asian style restaurant food but my palette has never really appreciated Korean restaurant food. But the two dishes that I like are the barbecued sliced beef ribs (don't know it's Korean name) and the beef noodle soup (beef bone marrow broth).

We had bibimbap on Alan's 10 day in '25. Chef Rhey was great!
