I'm a bit disappointed that my comment about magnets didn't get more love.

Never said anything about thumb free casting. The thumb is always brake #1, anything else is an addition, not a replacement.

Every casting reel that can accommodate magnet deserves one. Just my opinion.
Any machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough.
