Would someone care to enlighten me about what the thought process was behind the circa 1969 Shakespeare 2000 spinning reel? It was made in USA, but was it a budget companion to the Royal Maroon line? I understand it has an oscillation block inside which might indicate it was a cheaper reel, but it seems like an evolutionary dead-end with no direct follow-up product.
