Uh ohhh, didn't know the grease requirements!

Well i was so eager to get my new drag washers put in my tired tld25's. I ended up using Amsoil Syn. marine grease on the drag washers and everything else and didnt know about the drags needed special grease. I know its a high temp grease but is pet. based. Well i have not used the reels yet, can i still clean the new washers out and use them or are they pretty much trashed? Will carb cleaner or anything like that clean the drag washer out? it's ok.  use brake drum cleaner.  it's zero residue stuff.  then apply cal's grease.  alan
