Delrin or CF underwashers, both will work.  CF gives you a small increase in drag, delrin a slightly smoother drag.

If you decide to start upgrading I would go with drag stack, gearsleeve and handle first.

I think we all like to upgrade our reels because it is our hobby & like souping up an old hot rod,it give us confidence
In our gear that when moby dick or Jaws bite,we have done all we can
To meet the challenge.

I may start a new thread that may be interesting  & hear some fishing stories to boot.
How many trophy fish have been caught on stock tackle? Alot!
The average joe goes on a charter trip uses the boat's provided
Gear.
Many probably have never opened up a reel or ever cleaned a fish

I'm referring to a Delrin bushing pressed into the center of the main gear and peened around the edges of the hole to keep it in place. Once again just my opinion. Use it as Maxed Out advised and you should be fine.

As far as I remember, it's just cut brass, I could be wrong.
