My old laptop can not be upgraded to Windows 11 & my wife said her 6 yr old Chromebook is frustrating sometimes. So down the rabbit hole I go. After 30 minutes surfing & chatting with my computer guru friend(he taught me how to build my 1st PC & set it up)His opinion was AMD has the edge on CPUs now & google let me know 16-32Gb RAM is plenty for Windows 11.I found a Dell I liked on Amazon & noticed it had many options unavailable at the Dell website, one being 20Gb RAM not 16 or 32? The other was a touch screen which I do not need on a laptop.

So I chatted with Amazon & Dell to discover these 3rd party sellers on Amazon modify Dell Laptops. It appears you are getting a great deal with all these upgrades, but it voids the Dell warranty.

So I went to the Dell website & picked out one with all the options I wanted & chatted awhile about the 3rd party seller issues. "Why can't I order from Dell with all these options" Long story short I got a genuine Dell Laptop with their warranty & asked for a Discount. The agent gave me a $72 discount just for asking. I buy from Amazon a good bit, but you have to do your homework ,a "good deal" isn't always a good deal.

Try pop os its working fine on my new gaming machine. Linux has come a long ways since the early 1990s. It actually works and can replace windows for everything. Easy to install also. saves money on buying a new expensive laptop.

I have dabbled with Linux too & do like it as well. This is for my wife also & it wasn't very expensive actually cheaper than the Lenovo at Sam's I wanted to try. I called Lenovo found out its a discontinued model so that's why it was a" doorbuster".

The laptop I got does have 1 RAM slot I can replace the 16 stick with a 32 should the need arise. It has Wifi 5 which I can also upgrade if needed, but should be suffice.

If you have a Rakuten account, Lenovo purchases are eligible for 15% rebate today. Could help save more than just tax.
