Big old Fin-Nor reel with a big old South Bend rod

Repeat after me...

In order to shift gears you had to move the small lever in the center of reel in about a 3/4 circle to the right around center hub of reel it stops when all the way. Next turn the small lever near the outer rim of the reel about a half a turn which loosens the whole center hub . You turn the hub back about 2" then tighten the lever back up. Just the opposite to change back.

And I thought the "later" Fin Nors were tricky enough to change gears on...
