This is not accurate at all, there are no videos on these subjects on that channel, only complete AI slop, and the link to the app is merely AI grift preying on the naive, based on the supposed writings of a fictional character (Frank Yoder).

I have no idea why you have decided to double down on these poorly done vids and support this AI infection on what I consider one of the best forums on the web.

I propose this thread be deleted forever and an AI ban instituted permanently on AT.com

That answer was AI fact checking itself .  So AI has learned to lie and cover for itself ?

Trust me when I say , You will not hurt my feeling if the Moderators want to remove this thread .
If it is going to hurt the community , get rid of it .   :d

AI is so saturated (or should I say metastasized) throughout youtube and, hell, almost the whole internet. If a video looks, sounds, or smells like AI, I immediately click out of it. I try to make it my business not to be had by AI generated computer voices, faces, & scenarios.  But sometimes you can get had before you realize it.

It won't hurt my feelings if AI generated videos and articles are banned here.

I'm not doubling down on these videos. If anything, I'm illustrating how unreliable the LLMs are that these systems are trained on. As you mentioned earlier in this thread, AI is still immature and has a lot of growing to do before we can trust its results

The horse has already escaped from the barn.  Closing the door won't help.

If you are insulted or put off by AL generated content, then blame the AI technology that is not yet good enough to make you think it was created by a human.

The fact is, it was all created by a human.  Humans built the LLM.  Humans posted stuff to internet to train the LLM.  A human decided it was a good idea to request input from the LLM.  A human clicked the send button and regurgitated it back to the internet; like a cow chewing its cud.

The rules have not changed.  You can choose to believe what you see on the internet or choose to declare it BS.  Recognize that AI hallucinates and humans hallucinate (or at least misinterpret what they see with their own eyes).  Continue to use your judgement.  Try to only relay the truth.  Do not withhold the truth for fear that it will be consumed by AI.

If AI content is somehow inferior to what a human can create without the use of technology, then ban spell checkers and keyboards too.  Just write it on a legal pad and mail it to us.

There's a lot of things about the modern world and the future that I kinda hate, that are generally seen as inevitable. A lot of things.

I avoid using those things. But I don't attack others for using them, to many those things are normal. And I won't change their minds enough to get them to also avoid those things. So I hardly try. It'll just make me sound like I'm picking fights over commonplace things.

Respectfully, I think the situation is a bit different than how you folks are characterizing it.  This is neither completely inevitable, nor is it a matter that can be controlled individually via personal choice.

Allow me to start with the anology of another revolutionary technology, and then bring us back to AI in particular:

Once scientists figured out how to split the atom, the nuclear age was inevitable.  The efforts  to regulate the use of this technology locally and internationally has been far from perfect, but was far better than accepting fate and doing nothing. Surrendering to the inevitable, or retreating into cynicism would have given us a much worse world than we have.

And saying "if you don't like nuclear technology, then don't use it" doesn't really work if they are using the lot next to yours for a waste storage facility, or the unstable country next to yours is building up a nuclear arsenal.

Getting back to AI:  This is not a matter of patience, allowing the technology to mature. AI is not evolving into anything.  They are simply optimizing a model that was mostly defined in the 70s,  but was abandoned until modern GPUs introduced just the right type of computational capability with enough capacity at a low enough price point to resurrect this abandoned  model. (yep, civilization will be ruined by Grand Theft Auto, just not the way that we thought it would). It will get better at what it is doing, but that is just making a probability based association of sliced up data it does not understand. AI does not do intelligence, it simulates it.

What is intelligence? I think that the best definition is the ability to apply knowledge.  So far, so good. So, what is knowledge? Now it gets a bit squishy.  It is not just possession of raw data, otherwise databases would be knowledgeable.  A lot of qualitative/cognitive words start being applied here, like awareness, understanding, apprehending truth or reality. AI does not even attempt this.  Hell, we can't even come up with a hard definition or test for the possession of these kind of qualities. How can you write code to do something that you can understand intuitively, but cannot define concretely, and only describe in general terms. We are talking Philosophy  here, not Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.

This current overarching AI model, the Artificial Neural Network,  utilizes data not knowledge.  It has no knowledge.  It harvests and processes the collective pool of knowledge  that humanity has accumulated over thousands of years while simultaneously excreting its hard-to-differentiate imitation of knowledge back into that same pool, polluting it with its own output (I would say excrement), which it then consumes in a repeating cycle of knowledge degradation.  This is a well documented phenomenon, and is unlikely to ever be fully controllable.

Now in our own little corner of the internet, we are the keepers of a hive of a small unimportant chunk of the world's collective knowledge.  Letting AI content in, ensh**tifies it for all of us. The quality of knowledge  repository is degraded, people lose interest in contributing  when they are competing with AI content, and so on. We can't keep the influence out entirely, but we will be better off by doing what we can.  There is a reason why web communities pretty much everywhere are implementing AI policies.

Here is some "fun" reading on what AI does to businesses and institutions, but it really applies to any organization.

:d  Dave  I have said it once before , and I will say it again.   I am so glad you take the time to write out your post with solid information .      I only hope people will take the time to really read it .     Too many people with short Attention span will miss the point  .
