Rod looks great Alex! Before pics look pretty rough. I admire your thread work. Did you cover the grips with rope and shrink wrap? They look really nice.

Vision's all messed up and he's still not missing a beat! Beautiful job Alex. Guess you left the seat and butt cap and worked around them? Really like the blues too. What thread did you use for the lightest blue, if you don't mind me asking?

That came out great, beautiful color combination. First class
Looks like a super seeker from the color, if so that wasn't a factory build. That's their flagship line, they wouldn't use those cheesey guides on a rod with a heavy duty handle like that. You stepped it up about 10 notches from the original wrap job. The owner will be pleased

about the light blue thread, I dont know the code of the color, the spool is too old that it doesnt have any marks on the wooden spool, all I know its from gudebrod brand  :-\

thanks Sheridan, I said factory rod because of the nice Seeker sticker on the rod but it could be a custom rod as you said, you know 10x more about this business than me, the same person have some nice used calstar custom rods that want restored too.

Always the way isn't it lol! I've stayed away from so many lots of old threads, just for this very reason. Even the old gudebrod fly tying spools are the same as the rod building spools. Makes it really hard to identify them. No biggie. Just figured I'd ask. That epoxy really has a nice shine to it too.

If it's gudebrod the light blue is #037, the darker blue is #246
Pro wrap thread is good too with a much broader range of colors
