The 322 arrived, a little OLD dried up line on it, plenty of boat rash and almost completely dry inside, one little dollop of dried up white grease and that was it. It's on the desk next to the Cheetah 500 with the new bail springs installed.

Reels like that $5 one are good to me for learning on. There's different ways to adjust the line lay for example, but if you make a irreparable mistake, oh well...

Agreed. There's something beguiling about finding a working reel for $5 or $10, it's like a pulled a fast one on society. And, like you said, if it's a dud, either keep it for parts or toss it and forget about it.

I have several 333s, I need a little 311 so I'll have the whole set. If that 333 is cheap enough it would be a decent Zangi parts reel.

It was a 311 and I bought it. I can either use it as a parts reel or paint a 300 body to match and use the side panel to make my own 311. Krylon copper paint is almost an exact match for the body color on these reels.
