We can only catch Rainbow trout here in Jan/Feb when they stock the ponds. It's too hot any other time according to my source at the fishing tackle supply store. She showed me a picture of about 10 of them she caught last year in one day. I'm going to try the same pond this winter. She said you can catch them with corn or small marshmallows.

DAM Quick reels make me think of Mercedes automobiles from the 60s and 70s...not beautiful necessarily, but purposeful and beautifully engineered. Even the big-dog 450SEL with the W116 body did not have tilt steering wheel in the 70s, because engineers said they had the wheel at the optimal angle. They had been resistant to giving the driver a power window because it added complexity and weight, and if a driver wasn't strong enough to crank his own window he shouldn't be driving. Very pragmatic German way of doing things and I have a great deal of respect for that attitude. Now a Mercedes is a piece of jewelry that you lease for 3 years and dump before the warranty runs out. Sort of like disposable fishing reels.
