Hello again y,all.  I found this post most interesting and usually would not comment.  Butt i must.  Mostly on the non multiplier reels/mooching ..... 
  Ive been fishing for salmons for way over 50 years.  The mooching reel is still my preferred weapon and certainly the most fun to get the most challenge from a trolling salmonoid. Secondly you dont need 50# of drag to catch a 50 # salmon,  Here is the fun part.  Enjoy a new to you experience..    There are many variations and ive modified some mostly the aluminum ones,  Like many others here I could use just about anything that money could buy,  but the simplicity of direct drive is the deal driver for the argument with the finest bottle of your choice........
