Lai skin jigs

Anyone else use fish skin such as Lai skin (Leatherback/Queenfish), to dress their lures and jig heads? If so what species and what is your tying process?

I spent the morning whipping up a bunch of these. Nothing fancy, just a single strip folded in half, then double-lashed with red rod-building thread topped with clear nail polish.

Yeah they're kind of funky looking, but the trevally and snappers here gobble em up like candy...What's your go-to fish skin?

Never heard of that .... not a thing in Canada.... but they look great !
