I prefer to use a 18-505 Bellville washer if it fits between the drag stack and frame.

Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

OK. I returned the 3 stack to the 505 and added a metal washer to the top below the bellville and it's fine.

After reading through a bunch of threads here wrt to 500 vs. 505, I'm going to go along with what seems the consensus and not increase the drag on the 505 and put the 5+1 smooth drag kit and SS gear sleeve in my 500. Mystic is sending a new fine thread brass gear sleeve, and a spacer just in case I want to go that route. The spacer is a full 1mm longer. Next will be a frame for the 500. And then,... ;D

I would continue with the 505.

Looks like you already have an after-market aluminum frame, unless I'm looking at a 506 frame, but it looks too wide for a 506.
Noticed an SS gear sleeve and a brass dog in one picture. The SS A/R cog on the sleeve will tear-up a brass dog when under spring pressure.

Check out this double-dog system for a Jigmaster. All Stainless steel. Fix yours successfully and it's yours—free. I really would like to see you figure it out, it's confidence building fun!

Brilliant and generous but I believe that's for a 500 not a 505.

classtime found a solution that works for them, it's not my place to tell them they're wrong. At the end of the day what matters is enjoying what you fish with and I think he's got that covered. I can't make a logical defense of every tackle mod I've done. It doesn't have to be "right" if it's fun.

Gee, thanks Jason. Must have forgotten since I did a 505/500 comparison several years ago. As for your other comments...well...; you know...and if you don't; GUESS!
I can send something to you; bigger britches!

Ok, Jason was right; HS Bridge = 56.3mm, Reg. 500= 52.6mm. So, the screw-holes wouldn't match-up. Now  the memory is coming back.

So, the offer still stands Classtime, but for the 500.
Jason, relative to those other comments: SAME OFFER!

With my old tired eyed it looks like there is no CF washer on the bottom of the stack.  I like the bellville washer on top.  Your stack should have a CF and keyed washer on top above the flush with the top of the gear eared washer.

Gfish, that is a Tiburon frame on my 505. Tom from Cortez Conversions got back to me and suggested extra metal washer on the stack below the bellville, it helped a lot. And then a wavy washer between the star and the handle, also suggested by Tom, and now I think I'm good and will keep the SS gear sleeve in the 505 with the 3+1. SS dogs are recommended when we install a SS gear sleeve? My next order will include a couple.
That is a nice offer of the stainless DD bridge but isn't it about time you did another JM >:D

Keta: I'm pretty sure the stack starts with CF washer and then my last assembly includes an additional metal washer under the bellville. Bu now I need to double check the stack. thanks :)

Like I said, 74 year old eyes are not perfect.
