Hello all,

I recently was given several DAM Quick reels: finessa, super, 110(n?), 330, and a microlite. For the larger models, I'm trying to figure out how much max drag pressure I can achieve so I can figure out which rod strength rating would be a good fit for the reels. In other words, if a finessa can put out 10 pounds of drag, then I'd probably pair it with a rod rated for 30 pound line.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Put them on a rod and pull against a scale. Then you'll know, ya know!

lots of variables.  i used to tell people an absolute max of 5 pounds of drag for every drag washer inside the main gear, but that was a gross oversimplification.  like mark says, just gotta check it on a scale.  just don't break anything in the process.  done THAT way too many times.

and welcome!!!!!!  ;D

Post your results after testing so the next person to ask this will have a ready made answer!
