Picked this up on Mercari for $37.24 plus freight.
Missing one screw and one has a missing head.
After inspection, neither are an issue.
My question is whether or not the pinion gear is damaged?
It looks odd to me.
Thanks!

Second photo looks like it is OK, remove the grease and post another photo.
Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

Lee.
Thanks for looking.
Will this work for you?
I was actually looking at the rounded-out sections'

Maxed Out

Those rounded out spots on the pinion gear are so the pinion can smoothly engage with the spool.

BTW, you should be looking over your shoulder for cops to pull up in your driveway, cause at that price, you stole it. Just the aluminum spool is worth $40-$50
Success derives from not repeating failure

Thanks Lee!
Does this drag stack look correct?
The 3 top pieces is my concern.
10 piece drag stack, then the metal, felt and angled id top plate.
The metal to metal looks like it could be an issue.

Post photo.  And listen to Ted  you stole the reel :D

Forgot the photo.
Sorry.

As a former LEO, I think you should send that piece of evidence to me for proper cataloguing in my evidence room.  That way you can claim you never had that reel.   :d
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

I got drags, and gears, ...and screws. Aftermarket stuff too. Whenever we finally get together I can fill in the missing pieces on your 5 finger discount.
Any machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough.

That one was in service recently with the Spectra line and that drag stack.

I really appreciate it Jason.
The medical issues this year have severely affected my life, one after another. Still employed at 71.
Had surgery a few weeks ago and I have another scheduled for a different issue on October 27.
I can't wait to meet you. I think you sent a PM with your number. I will check and give you a call or text you soon.
I haven't heard the "five finger discount" description in years. You must be an old soul.
Thanks!

Thank you for the offer Bill.
LEO's are some of my favorite peeps.
Several in my immediate family.
I think I'm good. I have already confessed and been absolved.
