I found an old what I believe to be a 1953 "Mitchell" reel at a garage sale.  The serial number on the body starts with a "B."  It appears to be a Pre-300 with a full bail.  It has a different bail trip assembly than I have seen in any of my other older Mitchell reels.  It is missing the bail wire and bail pick up assembly.  (See attached photos.) On the rotating head on the bail pick up side it has a threaded hole which is about 5/16" across.  I have looked at all of the old Mitchell schematics I can find and I have not been able to find any schematics that show this type of a hole.  I would imagine that there is a threaded part that does into this hole to attach the bail pick up assembly and screw.  Would anyone on here have an idea of what this part would be? I am looking to acquire all of the missing parts, but am not sure where to start on this project  Any help from this group would be much appreciated!  Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: An Ebay part seller for Mitchell reels just said that this looks like an early and scarce full-bail Mitchell 300 rotating head with the large threaded pickup-side mounting boss.  Would anyone know where I could get the necessary mounting boss?

To me it looks like it is missing the baffle plate.  See part No.81009 in the linked diagram (https://www.reeldr.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/MITCHELL-300-3011969.pdf).

I have several of them and will gladly send you one if you PM me your address.

I may also have a used bail, bail spring and bail screws as well as a used rotor.

Interesting, "a threaded part that "goes" into this hole to attach the bail pick-up assembly and screw". Never seen or heard of that before.

I have a C17270 pre-300 Mitchell.
The screw-head does look kinda thicker and slightly more dome shaped on yours, than mine.

Upon closer inspection; the hole where the bail spring attaches to the bail arm is in a different place. And the bail part that holds the line roller is thicker and shaped slightly different than on mine.

Did someone cut-off the bail wire just ahead of the lineroller?
