this two rods go directly to La Bocana, Baja Sur, these are a Calstar and Graftech custom rods that were already very bad beat-up and they needed a full freshen up.

La Bocana, this is a fishing paradise in the pacific side in mid zone of Baja Sur, around 3hrs south of Cedros Island, the owner is a well known local Captain who saw one-two of my customizing jobs on a fishing rods on one of his customers and asked about the rodsmither, long story short he send me 5 fishing rods to restore, no special notes or requests, he told me just do whatever you want to do to my fishing rods Im sure I will like them, according to recent phone calls after delivering these fishing rods it seems that he liked them  A LOT !! I already delivered 3 fishing rods, still two more in the works.

Check these ones out amigos

Great work. Key detail some folks overlook is the transition ramp on the foregrip. All the pretty colored wraps don't matter if that transition looks crappy, especially on shrink where you can't just use a trim band. Well done.

I hear you JOhn, the prep work on that transition ramp takes a lot of my time on the rod sice every rod is different, those times the easy job is wrapping the guides

Any machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough.

Two rules on the boat
1. Fish where the fish are
2. See rule #1

Fully agree. Sometimes it takes a couple of thread wraps to build and usually at least three coats of epoxy in my case to get uniform. On shrink, specially cord, where I usually can't get it sealed exactly 90 degrees to rod all the way around, I will apply a coat or two of five minute epoxy to level to blank diameter before wrap. Usually wrap up and back down, then flex coat. Diamond wrap or whatever, then  two more coats, then it looks like it's embedded in glass.
