I got the screw out easy this HF Warrior left hand bit set has paid for itself twice now.I used a spring loaded center punch,Lucas reel oil,& the 5/64 left hand bit  drilling very slow counterclockwise,no extractor required.

James, I have to assume that's a 302, but won't swear to it. Mine is at the other house and I don't have access to it at the moment to compare.

Yep looks like a 302,I just never seen one that didn't have the model number on it.

First page of this thread someone posted a 302 with no model markings

Nice job on the screw!  I don't use my reverse rotation drill bits out very often, but when I do it's to fix an "Uh Oh!"- john

I was really surprised how easy this one came out, I did let the Lucas reel oil soak over night. I think the key is to do it before you mess it up worse trying an alternate method. Normally I use Kroil ,but not in the house-it's kind of loud...

I have had this 302 back together 10 times & after a few turns of the crank it locks up. I thought it worked fine until I took it apart to get the broken screw out. Could the planamatic gear be coming out of the Oscillation slide, I don't see how that's possible.

I am baffled

Send me some photos, James —- in Nevada currently, watching weather on Pass closings.  Will be back West over the weekend, and back up to speed in reel work next week.  If we can determine what parts might be needed —- I can send them over to you.  Got plenty.

I assume the Oscillation slide pivots on the axle but do not know for a fact, green exacto pointing to it.I have no idea what else it could be all the nubs are in their respective orifices ::) 1-800-baffled.com

I think there's an indentation on the axel for the planamatic gear knob to pass through, but it's only on one side. Can't see from the photo, but is that indentation facing the planamatic gear? See post #18 picture on the referenced tutorial.

Yes Greggor all knobs are in the proper places

You pulled out the axel to see?
If so, this is an interesting one.
