One of the more unusual Italian brands, at least in the US market. I'll be curious to open it up and see how it's built.

Midway Tommy

I doubt you will be impressed. They're a pretty basic design that lack quality  materials and/or workmanship.
Love those open face spinning reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco Cardinals)

Tommy, that's the beauty of experimenting and buying some off-the-wall items. I bought a Salmo-built reel recently that just didn't impress me, resold it for just about what I had in it, so no harm no foul. With winter approaching I am also going to sell off some duplicates, cull the herd again. A man only needs so many Ted Williams 400 variants, after all.

Tommy, you hit that right on the nose. Outwardly it's an attractive little reel, looks like a platinum colored Mitchell 304, but it's pretty primitive and has nylon gears. I even had trouble getting the side plate screws inserted, they just didn't line up all that great. On a positive note, it DOES have a snappy bail spring.

Sooooo.... That's not just a modern phenomenon?
Any machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough.

Apparently not. It's really a shame, given my experience with other Italian brands.
