6/20/09 - grady tournament

we fish the grady white tournament in santa cruz last weekend.  sorry it's taken me so long to get the pics up.  my crew this year was made up of my dad, his old buddy taro asami, and my nephew richie.  the weather was horrible.  we ended up sticking only a dozen small rockfish the entire day.  my dad was hooked on a nice ling cod that might have been a money fish, but richie's line was hooked as well.  i told the kid not to pull, but he went brain dead and did just that, losing our only nice fish.  too bad for richie, because i always give the prize money to him whenever we win.  here are some of the boats entered into the derby.

after getting beat up all morning, a relaxing lunch was a welcomed break.
