is the baja special thats being sold today made in china .......if so which baja special would be the best and what upgrades do you guys recommend

Mine was made in the U.S.  I think they are all made in the U.S.  When the stores ran out Penn did another run to meet the demand.  Dominick

The Baja Special is made in the US; it's about the least expensive reel Penn makes in the US. The cutoff is $250: If it costs less than $250 it's made abroad.
