Having this problem with the squidder I just bought. The bearings are noisy which makes me think they are bad.

I greased heavily with cals on the carbon fiber drag stack and although smoother it still seems a little jerky. Maybe all I need is a new pair of smooth drags?

If the bearings are bad it will seem like there is uneven drag.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

PS CF drag requires only a light coat of PTFE grease, such as Cal's.
Any more will simply get squeezed out as the drag is tightened.
Good luck, Justin

Thanks for the quick replies guys, it must be the bearing then.... if i cup the spool and reel against the drag it is smooth as silk.

Any idea on where to get replacement bearings for this reel?
The bearings are  0.125 x 0.5 x 0.172, as Alan stated in his tutorial.

I know scotts has the bearings but at $11.45 and $14.50 plus shipping i was wondering if maybe there was another place for cheaper? Or maybe i am asking too much and this is the price for bearings, i don't really know.... please help me out.

I appreciate it.

a pair for $15.  the drags should still be good.  any chance that the spool is binding up against the frame?  that happens alot!
