Hi Guys,
Fishing with a friend in his boat out of Gorran Haven Cornwall UK yesterday I caught what is so I am told is a good size sea bass for Cornwall, 8lbs 8ozs. My previous largest bass was 4lb 2oz so I am well pleased. I caught the fish on a fly rod that I had converted with a butt to take a spinning reel. The reel I used was a Shimano baitrunner LX2000 with 8lb mono. It was a relief to see the fish finally in the net and brought on board.

Awesome Mike.  Hope to see some pics of that beast.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

A good fish, well caught.

A pic would be good.
Only believe that which you know to be true.

Posting photos,

Don't know how that happened, but it looks like I've just learned how to post photos! Unfortunately I never put a ruler along side but the fish was 25 inches long.

Nice bass Mike,very tasty too.
Only allowed to keep two in any 24 hour period over here due to commercial overfishing.
Last time I caught good bass was out of St Peters Port using live sand eels.

Hi Tom,
Yes it made good eating, the fishing in the Channel Islands is excellent, I am sorry now that I left Jersey to live in Cornwall!

Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Never mind Mike.  It looks like the fish posted its own photo.   ;D  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Hi Guys,
Well yesterday was a waste of time, not one fish, I will have to try again for Alans 6 footer!!

I don't know if our bass are the same as a mullaway, perhaps someone can enlighten us.

Yes it must have been a magic fish to post it's own photo!!!!
