servicing reels

morning all !!!

anyone come accross these reels, need to service them anyone got some advice ?

# Abu Garcia - Cardinal 353
# Silstar - LT40

Any adivice will be appreciated.

Hi there G6, did you name yourself after the canon? :)

I have had a few of those silstars, they are not too difficult to service but they corrode easily, its pretty much the same as any other spinning reel. I can't remember what the drag washers were made of though, think it was teflon

na the " G6 " was given to me by one of my friends - dont actualy know why but its stuck with me and everyone that knows me either calls me G or G6 !!!!!!

any way stripped the Abu Garcia last night !!! not a bad little reel ! no complications and probley can do this one without a picture infront of me "LOL" - needs a new spool and drag release knob at the back but otherwize it looks good !!!

all the bearings are probably shot.  i think it would cost more to service than the reel is worth.   :-\

morning, yes was thinking the same, its for a friend of myne so will hear what he says, will have a closer look tonigh when i get home, thanks for the advice
