Perhaps that should have been "lift and wind" rather than pump.
But yes, using the rod rather tan the reel to do the work.
I didn't realise that dogs in a senator worked on the main gear. Learned something new today.

Well, maybe I shouldn't have said on the main gear. Through or via the main gear would've been a better choice of words. You know what I mean though.
