Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and love it! I have a great old Penn 714Z spinner that my Dad gave me years ago and would like to get it back in working order!! First off when I took it apart 3 years ago, it was working properly, but not now!! :'(  For some reason I am having trouble with the bail mechanism as I know I did not put it back together correctly!  :'( :'( :'(

Anyone have a tortital on this Penn reels bail mechanism!  ;D ;D ;D

welcome!  i'm not a spinner guy and tried like crazy to keep this a no-spin zone, but the guys had other ideas.  hopefully one of the spinner guys will chime in.   ;D
send me an email at alantani@yahoo.com for questions!

Try mysticparts.com I used their drawing when I did a 710Z in December. They have parts also.

I have not failed.  I just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

Hello Bonecracker, welcome. I'm hoping you didn't crack anyone's bones ;D
these reels are pretty easy to service, try this:

since it is the bail that you're looking for, try this one as well:

These are different models, but the layout is similar.
Good luck!

Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Bonecracker, if you can't figure it out post a pic of your bail and I'm sure we can help. Bob
