Baja Special click washer stuck

The click washer assembly only slides up about half way up the gear sleeve then gets hung up/stuck.  Threads on the gear sleeve seem fine so idk what the click washer is hanging up on? Simple problem, I know, but I can't get it off!!!!!  Anyone else have this problem?

Can you push it backdown?  If so, look near the threads that get stuck and see if the gear sleeve has any burrs.  If so, take a fine file and file down the burrs only on the flat side of the gear sleeve.

You can also just pull it off by holding on the the click assembly and any washers below, tap on the gear sleeve with a wood or plastic end of a screwdriver and it should pop free.

Yes it goes back down fine, but not up past a certain point. It's definitely a result of some burrs, just too fine for me to see.  thanks for the suggestion, Bryan.
