TLD 25 tension knob....

It won't unscrew...

Drag lever is in freespool, I have even lifted up off the clutch the best I could...yet it would not budge....

Realizing I was gonna need to replace some parts, I took after it with some channellocks..

Now I am ready to hit it with the dremel. I want to cut it around so I can just lift what is left of the knob off.

Yes, I pulled the decal off the end of the tension knob and over the course of two days worked Kroil into it...

Any tips..so far no real damage other than the lever and the knob. I just dont want to damage the spool if I can help it...

Update....used a dremel with a thin cutting wheel..cut right under the knurled knob of the pre-program dial (tension knob to me) . It popped off, pieces came out alongside the lever shaft body...it has a couple of scrapes on it...but it and the spring survived.

All I need is a drag control lever and the pre-program dial and she will be good to go!
