Shimano Calcutta 401 conquest S.steel pinion?

Hey guys.

Does any one of you guys have a Conquest that would check how ever the pinion gear is made of steel or not?

Iv'e seen it mentioned in some post on other boards, but in my 401 i looks exactly like the same material as the main gear (golden brass like)
And non of the dealers or orther places mentions anything about S.steel pinion.
