SENATOR SIDEPLATES

I have read that the older Senator sideplates can swell with age.
Did Penn change the composition of the plates in later models or can they swell too?

Basto, I don't have an answer to your question, but, a 2/0 Senator I bought on ebay had swollen plates.  Later the plates seemed to shrink and it was much easier to install the chrome rings.  I wonder if the hot, dry Nevada air dried out the sideplates and they returned to original dimensions?
