Saltist 4500 "upgrade" ?

Got a great deal on a never used Saltist 4500. I've been told that I'm undergunned for tarpon and structure fishing. Why would this be? Is there a way to make upgrades so that it is more compatible? Maybe closer to the 5500 specs... Thanks

the only upgrade are carbontex washers and grease with Cal`s
Check with Dawn (Smoothdrag) if available
Its easy job.
