Hi -

The Squidder tutorial has both bearings, key #40 and #26, lubed with ReelX. The similar bearings in the tutorial for the 16/0 Senator (which I'm using as a guideline for the 4/0 I have) are shown being packed with grease. Is this because the Squidder is to be used for longer distance casting as opposed to the Senator? From my understanding of the schematics, both of these bearings are non-spool bearings and would, in theory, be packed with marine grease. I suppose the left side bearing #40 could be considered a spool bearing (?)
Any information/corrections to my current assumptions would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

ReelX. Both bearings are spool bearings.

Generally, pack non-spool ball bearings with grease and spool bearings if you're not going to cast with the reel (trolling, bottom fishing, etc.). Fine reel oil (ReelX, CorrosionX, TSI 301 or 321, etc.) for spool bearings that you want really good freespool on.
