How do you know what to oil, grease, and what not

Just wondering since Im new to servicing a reel myself, how often do you service one, what do you oil and grease/how do you know what to oil and grease.  if anyone could just provide me with a basic overview and everything that would be awesome, thanks.

Gears, drag washers and pinion bearings should be greased, spool bearings for trolling reels should be greased but for live bait and casting oiled.
