About a week ago I got my Calcutta 401 D from Japantackle. Super service I must say. 4 days from Japan is very fast.

A couple of days ago I got to look at the box and the reel. On the box it says "Calcutta 401", but it does not say "D" anywhere. So I looked at the reel and surprisingly enough it also said "Calcutta 401".

Does anyone know why the "D" have been left out? I mean, it is a Calcutta D, but it does not say. Maybe I got a limited edition? :D

Thanks in advance,

Kind regards Ole

I'm pretty sure only the new U.S. model Calcutta has the "D" suffix.  The Japanese market Shimano reels do not come with a letter designation.
Just a jig-a-lo

Thank you. I think you are right. I looked at their website and it says Calcutta 2013 and not Calcutta D. However, the reels are identical, so it is all good.

Kind regards Ole
