Question about a 5000 C

Just found a 5000C black reel with a smooth foot and a 5 diget number on the foot,just wondering if anyone has any info on this reel.The number is 22974.Any idea when made?

Mid-60's. The number on the frame is an actual serial number, of which I am not privy, as to when it was made.
It's been rode hard and put away wet,  send Simon a note, at mr ambassadeur.com He has production records from Sweden from when they did s/n's till when they moved to generic numbering on the frames.

Hio.. side plates do not catch fish.  Most parts for this reel are still available, to turn it into a nice fisher. Hopefully the frame's still tight, and not loose at all the connection points.  It's chrome over brass, not aluminum. Heavy, stable, strong, if not racked.

The bearings, if still stock, will be French 'radiussed' ones, with the shoulders rounded over like a donut, so the bb can move a bit in the boss to compensate for slight twists and turns.
One of the main reasons these oldies last so long, and cast so far. Flushed and treated with a metal restorer, such as Boca Bearings offers, and you'll be good to go.

Thanks for the posts the reel has a little wear on the body but it is really tight all around and was well taken care of.I am gonna give it some tlc and fish it hard.
