Looks to be a great site. I have seen many of the reel tutorials on other sites and often used them for reference.
After having a bluefin finally destroy the bridge sleeve on my 505 I did some searching whick led me here and to a new stainless sleeve from the site that linked this one.
That old reel was one of the last things my father bought before passing to cancer in '87. I put a power handle and an accurate frame on it and have killed many tuna and yellowtail with it over the last 20 years or so.
I have some other ideas for it as I will continue to use it but will post that in an appropriate forum.

:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Can't wait to see what you have cooking.

Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Thanks for the welcomes!
I just got a new powder coat set-up and I think I will be doing all the chrome in gloss black, new handle from here, SS bridge sleeve already ordered, and I will be looking into ways to increase drag capapblility. I got some Newells that could stand a little upgrading as well...... ;D
I've been that guy that has resisted all this new stuff and always said "I can catch all the same fish as that guy with the $400 reel.....and have money left over to give the jackpot to the crew"

Welcome! It sounds like you have joined the dark side!  ;D  We do like pics.   Bob

Welcome from the Sacramento Delta and  former resident of the IE
Hot in the IE today....but not too bad.
I got my parts. I couldn't read the part number on my star so I ordered one just in case. Turns out I have two of the same now. Money well spent. The old one will get the powdercoat.......

Welcome new guy.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.
