Hi Alan, Is it alright to leave the bearing shields off when you
relube the bearings on  Penn inter. reels ? Do i use the same
lube on all the bearings ?

you really should open them up if you can.  the non-spool bearings should be opened and packed with grease.  the spool bearings should be open, cleaned, lubed and installed open if you want freespool, or greased and reshielded if you just troll.  alan
